"She understood our expectations and completely surpassed them."

"Christa has a soft spoken, calm demeanor that is perfect for her role as a doula."

 "Great advocate for her clients."

"Her passion and dedication to supporting families during the birthing process is truly inspiring."

Why have a doula on your birth team?

  1. Increased Satisfaction: Numerous studies have shown that women who receive birth doula support report higher levels of satisfaction with their birth experience. Doulas provide continuous emotional and physical support, creating a positive and empowering atmosphere.

  2. Reduced Labor Interventions: Research consistently demonstrates that having a doula present during childbirth leads to lower rates of medical interventions such as cesarean sections, epidurals, and Pitocin augmentation. Doulas can provide comfort measures, suggest position changes, and offer encouragement, helping labor progress naturally.

  3. Shorter Labor Duration: Studies have found a correlation between having a birth doula and shorter labor duration. Doulas assist in labor progression by using techniques like relaxation, massage, and positioning, which can lead to a smoother and quicker childbirth.

  4. Enhanced Bonding: Birth doulas support not only the birthing person but also their partner. By guiding partners in providing physical and emotional support, doulas can help strengthen their bond during this significant event, fostering a deeper connection as they embark on parenthood together.

  5. Decreased Use of Pain Medication: Research shows that individuals who receive continuous labor support from a doula are less likely to rely solely on pain medication during childbirth. Doulas are skilled at offering non-pharmacological pain relief techniques, such as breathing exercises and relaxation techniques.

Having doula support during pregnancy and childbirth can greatly improve the birthing experience by providing emotional and physical support to the parents throughout the entire process. Our expertise in promoting relaxation and offering personalized guidance can help reduce anxiety and increase confidence, leading to a smoother and more positive birth outcome.

About Me

Hi there! I'm Christa, and I'm delighted to share a little bit about myself and the services I provide as a Birth & Bereavement Doula, Breastfeeding Educator, and Placenta Encapsulation Specialist. With a deep passion for birth and supporting families, I strive to offer unwavering support, respect, and empowerment throughout your birthing and postpartum journey.

My Journey into Birth and Doula Support

My own journey into the world of birth and doula support began when I had a doula of my own back in 2017. The experience ignited a passion within me to fully understand birth and all its intricacies. After birthing my three beautiful children, I decided to become a doula myself. Each of my own births taught me invaluable lessons about the essential role of doula support in different ways.

Supporting Diverse Births and Birth Settings

As a doula, I've had the privilege of supporting a diverse range of births and birth settings. Whether it's unmedicated or epidural births, inductions or spontaneous labors, planned cesareans, home or hospital births, I've experienced it all. I firmly believe that birth is unique to every individual, and there's no right or wrong way to give birth.

Calm, Empathetic, and Non-judgmental Support

As a doula, I bring a calming, empathetic, and non-judgmental presence to every birth I attend. My specialization lies in supporting VBACs (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean), pregnancy/birth after a previous loss, and those who wish to have unmedicated births. However, I have a deep love for supporting all types of births. What matters most to me is that my clients feel supported, heard, and respected throughout their birthing and postpartum journey.

Empowerment through Evidence-based Information

I strongly believe in empowering parents by providing evidence-based information and ensuring they're aware of all their options. By developing a strong relationship with my clients, I can fully understand their wishes and help create their ideal birth experience. I strive to equip parents with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions that align with their values and goals.

Personal and Professional Development

During my free time, I enjoy being outdoors with my children and husband, cherishing family moments and exploring nature. Having nursed each of my children for over two years and earning my Breastfeeding Educator Certification, I have gained invaluable experience that I use to benefit the families I work with who choose to breast/chest feed. Additionally, I continue to enhance my knowledge through working as an on-call doula for a midwife group and attending various workshops on birth and comfort techniques. I am also trained in SpinningBabies and well-versed in hypnobirthing techniques, further equipping me to support families during their birthing journeys.

Respect for Your Choices

My primary goal is to offer unwavering support to my clients and respect their choices 100%. Whether you choose to have an epidural or plan to give birth in a hospital or not, I am here to ensure that your preparation, respect, and support prevail. I pour my heart and soul into every family I work with, nurturing their confidence as they embark on their remarkable journey into parenthood.

Additional Services: Breastfeeding Support and Placenta Encapsulation

Apart from offering my services as a birth doula, I also provide breastfeeding support and placenta encapsulation as separate services. With my Breastfeeding Educator Certification and personal breastfeeding experience, I can offer guidance, education, and encouragement to families who choose to feed their babies human milk. Additionally, as a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist, I can provide families with the option to encapsulate their placenta for a smooth postpartum recovery.
